birth date seems unlikely; probably later
Note: Susanna remained a widow for 16 years, then on March 16, 1822 inRutherford Co., TN, she married Gideon Patterson.
On Oct. 18 1822,Susanna and Gideon deeded Hiram H. Gambill 124-1/4 acres, his share ofhis father's estate, and in return
Hiram was to furnish Susanna fortybushels of corn per year as long as she lived. On June 7, 1822,Susanna and Gideon sold
to Aaron & Benjamin Gambill four slaves, onenegro woman named Silvey aged 42 years, one negro girl named Sealyaged 9
years, one boy four years old named Zed and one girl namedRindy 2 years of age, for the sum of one thousand dollars. Hiram
H.sold his part of the home place to his brother, John in 1825. Å [rachel.ged] Edna Kokenaur <e.koke@home.com>

Fred,
Have you ever heard the rumor that Bradley Gambill bought his wife, Susanna
Fisher Nash off the auction block ? She is said to have been Portugese and
Cherokee and sold as a slave. This comes from the family of her grandson
John. At one time there was a big discussion on this in the families. Some say
a romantic tale, and others claim the truth. A very interesting thought
indeed !

>ARE THESE THE GEN POOL RESULTS FROM ROOTSWEB OR FROM ANOTHER SITE - SORRY I AM IGNORANT HERE . THEIR ARE SOME LEGRANDS BURIED AT DYER CMETERY AT THE CEDERS IN RUTHERFORD SO I GUESS THAT MAKES SENCE - AT LEAST TO SOME EXTENT - I DO NOTICE PETER LAGRAD MOTHER LUCY AS HAVING BEEN NAMED LUCY NASH - WONDER ABOUT ANY RELATION HERE - COUSIN - I ALSO KNOW THE DYERS WERE SOME RELATION TO THE LEATHERS FAMILY ON THE LINE OF WM ROBERT DYER - I THINK - DONT QUOTE ME AND A LEATHERS MAN TAKES CARE OF THE DYER CEM IN RUTHERFORD - OR SO IM TOLD - I WAS ALSO TOLD THEY GAVE HIM A GRANT FROM SOME KIND OF AN ACCOUNT TO DO THIS - SOUNDS MYSTERIOUS TO ME - WM ROBERT DYER TO WHHO ISAIAH ROBERT'S ESTATE FIRST PASSED (- BEFORE GOING ON TO AZARIAH , JAMES AND THOMAS )WAS A BIG DEAL IN TENNESSE HISTORY WITH GEN STONEWALL JACKSON - HIS DIARY IS AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES - BUT I HAVE YET TO GET A COPY OF IT . TWWO STORIES FROM ORAL TRADITION I SHOULD NOTE ARE THESE - FISRT THAT SUSANNAH NASH WAS SOME RELATION TO BRG GENERAL FRANCIS NASH FOR WHOM NASHVILLE IS NAMED - SECONDLEY THAT THE OTHER DYER'S HENRY DYER FOR WHO DYERSBURG AND HIS KIN FOR WHOM DYER COUNTY, TN ARE NAMED CAME FROM GRANGER COUNTY , TN AND ON THE WAY TO DYERSBURG AREA STOPPED IN THE RUTHERFORD COUNTY AREA AND EVEN SOME OFF SPRING FROM THE DYERS BURG AREA MOVED INTO RUTHERFORD - SO WE HAVE ANOTHER SET OF SYERS IN THE SAME PLACE - I HAVE - AS I HAVE GOTTEN FROM OTHERS DEAMED THEM THE DYERSBURG DYERS AND THE EAGLEVALE/WINDROW DYERS -
THE NOTE TO ST LOUIS I FIND REALLY INTERSTING AS THIS WAS A WELL WORN AREA IN THE 1820 S FOR TN AND KY PEOPLE TO GO - AZARIAH - SISTER OF ISAIAH WASHINGTON DYER " ACE " MARRIED HENRY HARRISON PATE AND MOVED THEIR RETURNING WITH THEIR SON BENJAMIN PATE . DANEIL BOONE DIED IN MOURISSI SO THE THOUGHT OF DYERS, GAMBILLS AND PERHAPS NASH'S BEING WEST IS NOT A STRETCH . MAYBE WE SHOULD CHECK THIS OUT - THREE WEBS I LOVE ARE THESE :
ANCIENTFACES.COM - PICS OF ANCESTORS
GENFORUM. COM - PUBLIC FOURM ON SURNAMES
MYFAMILY.COM - YOU CAN CREATE A WEB PAGE AND INVITE OTHERS .
I WILL CHECK OUT THIS LAGRAD THING - I TEND TO BE AN OLD STYLE RESEARCHER - I STILL USE MY TYPEWERITER AND I PREFER MICROFILM TO ONLINE REPORTS - THE OLDER THE DOCUMENT THE BETTER . THANKS FOR THE INFO - SO DOES YOUR LINE COMR FROM FRACIS GAMBILL'S BROTHER ? JUST CURIOUS . BEST WISHES - SCOTT
