Systemic Mastocytosis
In April, 2003, my granddaughter became very ill and was hospitalized. The doctors thought she might have an immune problem. That didn't check out. My Daughter-in-law had noticed in the past that anytime her daughter ate certain things she became ill. She went online and did some research and found that everything she reacted to contained salycitates. The doctors  tested her for allergies and she tested negative. This led them to believe that allergines bypassed the normal route and went directly to her mast cells.D-I-L again went online to research this and found mast cell disorders .  This led her to Systemic Mastocytosis
This has helped, not only my grand-daughter, it has helped me as I have been diagnosed with this as well. On new medications, we are both feeling great.
   Follow-up:

I emailed about 45 online cousins and only one had enough symptoms, in fact, she had the same symptoms I have. Our only common ancestor was Amansabel, a Cherokee Indian who married John Butler, then after he died she married John Harper. Amansabel had children with both husbands. My cousin is desended from the 1st marriage and I am descended from the 2nd.. Our only common ancestor has to be who we inheriteed the disorder from and neither of us can find anything about Amansabel prior to her marriage to Mr. Butler. We've tracked her movements since moving to Smith County, Texas right up to her death.
